Biography[]
Aida is a police officer who is in charge of investigating the hit-and-run case and kidnapping of Lena Beck. Aida works with Ines Reisig.
Throughout Dear Child[]
After the hit-and-run, Aida arrived at the University Hospital Aachen, where she met the woman and a young girl named Hannah. She was also met by Gerd Bühling, the CID officer who was in charge of the Lena Beck missing persons case 13 years ago.
When Lena Beck's parents, Matthias and Karin, arrived, they realised that the woman was not Lena. However, they immediately broke down upon seeing Hannah, as she looked exactly like a young Lena.
When Aida learned that Gerd was friends and neighbours with Matthias and Karin Beck, she was angry, as Gerd's personal relationship with them could have hindered the Lena's missing person investigation.
Ruth Küppers, a nurse at the hospital, discovered something was amiss after spending time with Hannah, who talked about living in a dark room with covered windows and a circulation machine. Ruth brought this to Aida's attention. Hannah told Aida about her younger brother Jonathan, who was still living in the dark room with Papa. Hannah also talked about cleaning blood stains on a carpet.
When the woman woke up, Aida spoke to her. The woman was adamant that she was Lena.
The police investigation led them to a military site. After being unable to secure proper authorisation to enter the military site, Aida instructed her team to enter anyway, only to discover that it was riddled with mines when a bomb blew off the leg of Max, a police officer. After the mines were diffused, police officers entered the room, where they found Jonathan and a dead man with a disfigured face. Jonathan was brought to the hospital, while an autopsy was done on the man. Aida was criticised for her decision to enter the military site.
When Aida revealed to the woman that Jonathan and a dead man had been found in the room, the woman finally revealed that she was actually Jasmin Grass. Jasmin was kidnapped by the same man who kidnapped Lena Beck. Jasmin was forced to assume the identity of Lena, and raise Lena's children, Hannah and Jonathan, as her own.
DNA testing revealed that Hannah and Jonathan were half-siblings. Hannah was fathered by Lena's ex-boyfriend Florian, while Jonathan was fathered by Lena's captor.
