Biography[]
Biagia is from Castelleone, Sicily. Her father, Giacomo Ortolano, disowned her brother Lino Ortolano for his life choices, as he did not support Lino's decisions to leave the family farm to study, work as a chef and marry an American. He refuses to see Lino, even on his wedding day, which Biagia and her mother, Filomena disagree with.

Biagia and her mother, Filomena, missed Lino's wedding, as her father would not allow them to go. Lino's wife, Amy Wheeler, secretly called Biagia and arranged for them to meet in Sicily.[1]
