Charles Sun is a character in the action crime series The Brothers Sun, who is portrayed by Justin Chien.
Biography[]
Charles "Chairleg" Sun is the oldest son of Eileen and Big Sun. Charles is a feared gangster who has a knack for violence that takes him far in the family business. He becomes an obedient associate of his father. Charles is notorious among the triads of Taipei for being a ruthless protector of his family's interests.
Charles' mother, Eileen, was forced to flee Taipei with Bruce to start a new life in Los Angeles and cut off contacts from her past. Bruce grew up in sunny Southern California with no memory of his early years in Taipei.
Charles is torn between familial obligations and personal aspirations. He grapples with his identity in the criminal underworld.

After the attempted murder of Charles' father, Big Sun, who was a powerful figure in the Taiwanese triad, Charles returns to Los Angeles. His mission is to protect his family, while navigating the treacherous waters of his father's legacy. Charles' younger brother, Bruce, grew up completely naive to his family's criminal empire and dark history. Charles' arrival in Los Angeles throws Bruce into a world of crime and danger, for which he is completed unprepared for. Bruce is forced to confront a legacy he never knew and a destiny he isn't sure he wants, causing a shift in his perception of family and identity.
