Lady Constance "Connie" Chatterley (née Reid) is a character on Lady Chatterley's Lover. She is portrayed by Emma Corrin.
Biography[]
Connie is a free-spirited woman from London. She is initially excited about her marriage to Clifford Chatterley. However, after he returns from World War I paraplegic, she feels more like his caretaker than his wife. Isolated and depressed, she finds comfort and romance in an affair with the gamekeeper, Oliver Mellors.

After a courtship, a young Constance "Connie" Reid marries Clifford Chatterley. Shortly after, he returns to fighting in World War I. Clifford returns home paralyzed below the waist, and needs full-time care. He and Connie move from London to Wragby Hall, the Chatterley estate in the country.
Connie is initially optimistic, but later becomes depressed, as caring for Clifford daily and lacking the physical intimacy wears on her. Her loneliness is exacerbated by Clifford's complaints about his inability to have children and his suggestion that she secretly become pregnant by another man in order to leave him an heir.
Connie contacts her sister, Hilda, who hires Mrs. Bolton, Clifford's childhood nursemaid, to be his caretaker.
When Clifford sends Connie to check on some pheasant chicks, she meets the gamekeeper Oliver Mellors. Over time, she finds herself drawn to him. Connie asks her neighbour and local school teacher about him and learns that his wife left him while he was fighting in the war. However, he is still married because his wife refuses to give him a divorce.
Oliver remains humble to Connie as she is the lady of the manor, but Connie eventually acts on her desires, and they begin an affair. Oliver is aware that Connie is above his station, and worries about the consequences of upsetting his boss. As their passion intensifies, they must confront their situation and determine whether they are willing to risk it all for love.
