Eneko is a character in the Spanish crime drama limited series Muted. He is portrayed by Manu Ríos.

Biography

Eneko is Marta's boyfriend. Marta develops romantic feelings for murderer Sergio Ciscar. This causes complications as Eneko is deeply in love with Marta and believes Sergio is dangerous.

Throughout Muted

Eneko left work early to meet Marta, but Marta had plans, disappointing Eneko.

Later, Eneko caught Marta and Sergio outside together.

Sergio showed up to one of Eneko's apartment inspections. Eneko tried to remain calm and gave Sergio a tour of the apartment.

When Marta's boyfriend, Eneko, learned of their relationship, he became very angry. He and a group of friends confronted Sergio outside his apartment building and beat him up. Meanwhile, Marta copied Sergio's childhood videos to the psychiatrists. The group of psychiatrists became increasingly concerned while watching Sergio getting beat up, but Ana insisted on getting all the videos before intervening. Later, Eneko and his friends reported to the police that Sergio assaulted them, sending Sergio to prison again.

Sergio's mentor, Natanael Torrija, rallied outside the prison for Sergio's release. An anonymous number sent Natanael a video of Sergio's assault, showing that Sergio was actually the victim of the assault, not the aggressor. Natanael met Eneko and pressured him into retracting his statement. Sergio was set free.

Personality

Eneko is a hot-headed, violent and narcissistic character. He is shown to be an extremely jealous and overly-controlling person in his relationship with Marta. Eneko cares a lot about his how his peers view him, and will go to great lengths to salvage his 'exterior' image. He always wants to be perceived as an 'alpha' male and can adapt a toxic masculine mentality when he feels his masculinity is threatened. Eneko can be rather manipulative in order to get his way, and often gaslights Marta throughout the course of their relationship.
