Bridgerton is an American period romantic drama series created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes. Based on Julia Quinn's best-selling novels.

On January 21, 2021, it was announced that the series was renewed for a second season by Netflix.^[1] On January 27, 2021, Netflix announced that the first season of Bridgerton was watched by a record 82 million households around the world, which makes it now Netflix’s biggest series ever by a wide margin.^[2]

In April 2021, the series was renewed for third and fourth season before the second season has even finished shooting.^[3]
