Ibón Arregui is a character in Welcome To Eden. He goes to the Eden Foundation party. He is portrayed by Diego Garisa.

Biography[]

Ibón is a talented piano player who has an appreciation for classical music and art. He is easily able to identify the composer of classical music and paintings. He lives under the control of his abusive father.

He is the youngest executive at his father's company, Arregui Hoteles.[1]

Throughout Welcome To Eden[]

Ibón was invited to an exclusive party on a secret island run by Eden Foundation to help them promote their new energy drink Blue Eden. He goes to Eden to escape from his abusive father.

While waiting for the bus, he was able to identify that the music being played was Chopin.

During the party, the influencers were invited to try the drink, but Ibón did not.

During a flashback, Ibón's father was seen yelling at Ibón over an embarrassing event at work. Ibón's father claimed that Ibón only had music in his mind and hit him.

The next morning, Ibón and the other four chosen people Zoa, Aldo, Charly, and África woke up on an empty beach. A drone came to guide them and the five followed the drone. They reached an area with all the party staff and Astrid waiting for them.[1]

After the tour of Eden, Ibón directed to Module 12, where he would be staying in.

The next morning, Ibón and the other new members got their blood drawn and put on uniforms.

Hearing the sound of a piano, he walked into a room and found Alma playing the piano. He was able to identify that the song was by Erick Satie. Alma discussed her interest in melancholic music and Ibón complemented her piano playing. Alma encouraged Ibón to play, and while playing, Ibón explained that the last time he played, he got beat up. Alma assured him that no one at Eden would do that to him.[2]

Ulises told the 5 new people that a boat would arrive the next day at noon to take them home. Aldo wanted to speak to his secretary about re-arranging his schedule, and believed Ulises was lying about there being no mobile reception. Aldo confronted Ibón for not standing up to the people of Eden. However, Ibón got angry at Aldo for calling him "Chopin" and the two argued.

At the beginning of the party, Alma invited Ibón to play the piano. Ibón did not want to, but Astrid and Erick insisted that he do so. He ended up playing really well and Alma kissed him. Alma suggested to Ibón that he didn't need to leave Eden.[3]

Ibón had become smitten with Alma and willingly decided to stay at Eden. He and Alma went to Astrid's place. While waiting, Ibón noticed that the large painting on Astrid's wall was a copy of "Landscape with Charon Crossing the Styx" by Patinir. However, the painting was a fake as it had been altered so that Charon is looking at heaven instead of hell. After, the two told Astrid and Erick the good news, and Ibón signed a 1 year contract.

Meanwhile, Ibón's father had hired Brisa, a private investigator, to find him. Brisa told Ibón's father that since he was of legal age, she could not force Ibón to return, but Ibón's father was confident that he could.

During an evaluation, Ibón and África's decision to stay was announced. Astrid asked Ibón to choose the next person to be evaluated, and he chose Charly.[4]

During a commotion caused by a storm, Zoa brought Ibón to the underground cave, but Judith's body had already been removed. She was confused and explained to Ibón what she had seen the night before. Ibón realised that Zoa was describing the Patinir painting he had seen on Astrid's wall. He believed that someone wanted Zoa to find Judith's body, so they purposely lay her body in such a way.

In the middle of the night, Ibón snuck out because he was curious about Judith's body. He eventually found it on a boat heading towards the sea. He saw her body catch fire from the torch on the boat and screamed.[5]

Ulises and Ibón fought over Ibón leaving Module 1 during the storm. Eloy tried to intervene but was punched by Ulises. Zoa dragged Ibón away from the fight and told him about "links" - people that are supposed to keep a newcomer at Eden. She told him about the idea of running away at the next festival using a boat in an underwater cave. [6]

One night, the four new members, Zoa, África, Charly and Ibón, went through an initiation process to signify them joining Eden. They needed to walk across burning coal and get a necklace. The four then got a star tattooed onto their wrists to show that they were in level 1.

At night, Eloy dragged Ibón to his module glass window and saw Zoa and Bel standing in front of theirs. Bel and Eloy exchanged a hand signal to show that they had each other's backs.[7]
