First Match is an American sports drama movie directed and written by Olivia Newman. The film stars Elvire Emanuelle, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Colman Domingo, Jharrel Jerome, and Jared Kemp. It is based on Olivia Newman's 2010 short film of the same name.
The movie premiered at the South by Southwest festival on March 12, 2018, where it won the Audience Award and the LUNA/Gamechanger Award. It was then available for streaming on Netflix as an original movie on March 30, 2018.
