Geeked Week is a five-day virtual event that features exclusive news, new trailers, live art, drop-ins from stars. The free virtual event take place mostly on the Netflix Geeked Twitter account.[1] Rahul Kohli and Mari Takahashi will emcee the week-long festivities, with special guest hosts including Trisha Hershberger, Erika Ishii, Geoff Keighley, Yuri Lowenthal, and Kiera Please.

Netflix Geeked Week 2022, was from Monday, June 6, through Friday, June 10, 2022. Netflix Geeked Week 2023, was from Monday November 6 to November 12, 2023.

Geeked Week is being host on all Netflix accounts across all major platforms including YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, Facebook and TikTok. It starts every day at 9am PT/12pm ET/5pm GMT. With daily replay at 6pm PT/9pm ET/10am JST.

Goal[]

Netflix Geeked, Netflix’s home for all things genre entertainment, wants to celebrate these communities (Stranger Things, Castlevania, The Old Guard and many more.) and bring them together.

Each Geeked Week day will be broadly themed to different genres: film, comic books, fantasy, anime/animation and gaming. More than 50 Netflix projects are lined up, including: The Sandman, The Umbrella Academy, The Witcher, Gunpowder Milkshake, The Cuphead Show!, Arcane, Lucifer, Fear Street Trilogy, Kate, Castlevania, Masters of the Universe: Revelation, La Casa de Papel, Resident Evil, Cowboy Bebop, Cobra Kai, Godzilla Singular Point, Sweet Tooth, Vikings: Valhalla.

Day 1[]

  • Stranger Things: The First Shadow
    • A behind-the-scenes glimpse of the upcoming stage play adaptation of Stranger Things, which begins its run later this month.
  • Stranger Things Gaming Updates
    • Fortnite: new skins featuring Eleven and Hopper are now available in the Fortnite shop.
    • Dead by Daylight: fans can celebrate as the previously removed Stranger Things DLC will be making its return, meaning no more requests for Netflix to bring it back to the popular game.
    • Stranger Things VR, a first look at the upcoming VR game, Stranger Things VR, has been revealed. Jamie Campbell Bower returns to voice Vecna. The game is set to launch on Meta Quest on November 30th.

    • The first line from the script of season 5, episode 1, has been released.

  • Damsel, a new poster for the Millie Bobby Brown-led fantasy movie.
  • The Dragon Prince (Season 6), A brand-new poster has been released for the upcoming season, along with the exciting news that it will be streaming worldwide on Netflix in 2024.
  • Orion and the Dark: a fresh still from the upcoming DreamWorks Animation film, penned by Charlie Kaufman.
  • The Brothers Sun, a brand-new teaser poster has been released for the upcoming action-drama series, with the official confirmation that the show won't premiere until 2024.

Day 3[]

  • Avatar: The Last Airbender, a brand new teaser poster.
  • Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, a still image dropped next with the show releasing in just a few weeks.
  • Blood of Zeus: a new teaser trailer with the actual trailer set to release on Friday.
  • Code 8 Part II, a newly released poster reveals that the Canadian sci-fi film, featuring Robbie and Stephen Amell, is set to premiere in 2024.
  • Ultraman Rising, wrapped up day 2 with a new first-look image posted by Shannon Tindle.

Day 4[]

  • Arcane: the second season is set to be release in November 2024.
  • The Umbrella Academy, a short clip featuring the cast discussing the upcoming fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy, set for release in 2024, has been shared. Along with the clip, a brand-new poster was also revealed.
  • Squid Game: The Challenge: a behind-the-scenes tour featuring the director of Squid Game, Hwang Dong-hyuk, and special guest Anupam Tripathi!
  • Money Heist: a first look at the interactive game.
  • Shadow and Bone: Enter the Fold: a trailer for the new mobile game (set between Seasons 1 and 2) that you can download now exclusive on Netflix Mobile.
  • Sweet Home, a teaser for the second season has been unveiled, along with the release date set for December 1st.
  • My Daemon: a teaser for this upcoming series created by Hirotaka Adachi (Otsuichi). Coming to Netflix on November 23.
  • Ultraman: Rising, the teaser from the action-packed animated film based on characters by Eiji Tsuburaya, a creative mind behind Godzilla. Ultraman: Rising hits Netflix in 2024.
  • Jurassic World: a new announcement coming out of one of the biggest franchises of the last 25 years. Coming to Netflix in 2024. A new minute-long clip was released alongside two new images.

  • Leo: a clip for the new film starring Adam Sandler as Leo. Premiering on Netflix November 21st.
  • Chicken Run: Eggstraction: a behind the scenes with Aardman Studios, the new mobile entry is a top-down stealth action game.

Day 5[]

  • 3 Body Problem: an exclusive clip and poster at the genre-bending new mystery series based on the best-selling science fiction book trilogy, coming to Netflix March 21, 2024.
  • The Brothers Sun: Michelle Yeoh is back in action in the teaser for this new series, coming to Netflix on January 4, 2024.
  • Obliterated: from the creators of Cobra Kai, this wild action comedy premieres on November 30th, only on Netflix.
  • Leave the World Behind, a sneak peek at the apocalyptic thriller directed by Sam Esmail, creator of Mr. Robot. Coming to Netflix December 8th.
  • Code 8 Part II, a teaser looking at the forthcoming reunion coming to Netflix in February 2024.
  • Oxenfree II: Lost Signals: a short featurette of Erin Yvette and Liz Saydah, the talented voice actors of Alex and Riley. Available now on Netflix!
  • Masters of the Universe: Revolution, a teaser trailer for Masters of the Universe: Revolution, set to debut on January 25th, 2024.
  • Onmyoji: a clip for the gifted battle drama of two inseparable friends in the Heian period. Coming to Netflix on November 28.
  • Akuma Kun, see Akuma Kun and Mephisto III face off in their epic battle against the forces of darkness in a clip from this new series, now streaming on Netflix.
  • Katana Zero, a trailer for this action-packed game. Coming to Netflix Mobile in 2024.
  • Death’s Door: a teaser trailer for this new game.
  • Blue Eye Samurai: an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the epic fight sequences in this new animated series from the writer of Logan and Blade Runner 2049.
  • The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep: Doug Cockle will be voicing Geralt in this new animated film which was revealed with a new teaser trailer and some first looks, coming to Netflix in late 2024.

  • Slayaway Camp 2: Netflix & Kill: a teaser trailer of this adventure game which offers a killer mix of horror and comedy. Available now for some spooky fun!
  • Exploding Kittens, Tom Ellis is GODCAT in this new teaser for the upcoming series based on the best-selling game. Premiering 2024 only on Netflix.

Day one kicked off with an A-list lineup that included Guillermo Del Toro, Neil Gaiman, Mike Flanagan and even the famed Wednesday Addams.

  • Wednesday, a first look at the creepy and altogether kooky new series, from director Tim Burton, centered on the beloved Addams Family daughter as she navigates teenage life at the gothic Nevermore Academy and a murder mystery with close ties to her famed clan was released.
  • Guillermo Del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities: The Oscar-winning director gives fans an inside look at his scary and sinister new eight-part anthology series that attempts to challenge our notions of horror.
  • The Midnight Club, from Mike Flanagan. a first look at the series with this new teaser was released.
  • School Tales: See the poster for this Thai horror anthology series, based on eight horrifying comic stories, about what happens at a school after dark. During the day, the school belongs to the students.
  • The Imperfects, the teaser trailer was released, a first look at the three outsiders at the center of this sci-fi drama who band together in search of the evil scientist who conducted experiments on them years ago, transforming them into something that isn’t quite human anymore.
  • Sweet Tooth, season 2 behind-the-scenes update from the cast on location in New Zealand.
  • Locke & Key: the first teaser from the third and final season.
  • Fate: The Winx Saga, season 2 exclusive first look at new student and fan-favorite fairy Flora, played by Paulina Chávez.
  • Warrior Nun, the first look teaser of Season 2 was released.
  • Shadow and Bone: After kicking off last year’s Geeked Week with a Season 2 renewal, the cast announced in a video that they wrapped the second season.

Upcoming movies like Day Shift, Wendel & Wild, Spiderhead and The Gray Man took center stage on Day 2 at Geeked Week

  • The Sea Beast: the latest trailer and poster for this epic animated film from director Chris Williams.
  • Troll, a first look at this Norwegian folklore-inspired action-adventure about an ancient creature awakened after being trapped in a mountain for a thousand years and the unlikely group of heroes who must come together to try and stop it.
  • Day Shift, Jamie Foxx’s upcoming action-packed vampire comedy with a behind-the-scenes video from the film.
  • Killer Book Club: a teaser from the adaptation of the chilling novel about a group of college students haunted by an anonymous stalker threatening to take their lives and expose a killer secret.
  • Blasted, the trailer of this sci-fi comedy, inspired by a real-life UFO phenomenon in Norway, about two childhood best friends who must reunite as the kick-ass laser tag duo they once were to stop an alien invasion.
  • Interceptor, Elsa Pataky and the film’s creative team brought all of those jaw-dropping action sequences to life in the new behind-the-scenes video.
  • Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead: a first look for this upcoming zombie apocalypse comedy based on the original manga series from writer Haro Aso and illustrator Kotaro Takata.

Day 3 ushered in a ton of exclusive announcements and first looks from our animated series and films like Arcane, Masters of the Universe, The Seven Deadly Sins: The Grudge Of Edinburg and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, just to name a few.

  • Masters of the Universe: Revolution: news about Kevin Smith’s star-studded sequel to the beloved '80s franchise.
  • The Dragon Prince: a taste of the next part of the epic saga with a sneak peek at Season 4.
  • Arcane: the making of this video game-turned-series with this new clip from the upcoming documentary Arcane: Bridging the Rift.
  • Entergalactic, a first look and the full voice cast for this new adult animated project from the mind of Grammy-winning rapper and singer Kid Cudi.
  • Love, Death & Robots: a new behind-the-scenes featurette.
  • Farzar: the NSFW first trailer for this new adult animated sci-fi comedy from the creators of Paradise PD about Prince Fichael and his misfit crew called the “S.H.A.T” squad.

Day 5 ended with a slew of news and first looks about all things games, ranging from games-inspired series like The Cuphead Show! and Sonic Prime to our long list of new mobile games, which double the current catalog to approximately 50 titles by the end of 2022.

  • Dragon Age: Absolution: The hit role-playing video game is being adapted as an animated series at Netflix, and the new teaser and the poster got released.
  • Tekken: Bloodline: The iconic Japanese fighting game franchise is getting the anime treatment! Hear from Chief Producer Katsuhiro Harada as he introduces never-before-seen exclusive clips from the series and touches on the background of a fan favorite character.
  • Shadow and Bone: Destinies, a new mobile game based on the fan-favorite series.
  • Too Hot to Handle: a sneak peek from the upcoming mobile game based on the Netflix series.
  • La Casa De Papel: a single-player action-adventure game based on the hit series, in which players crack safes, pick locks and help rob a casino in Monaco — all to help an old friend of the Professor’s.
  • The Queen’s Gambit Chess: a first look at the trailer and the locations for this upcoming game, which lets you take lessons, play puzzles and matches, and compete against online competitors or familiar faces from the award-winning limited series.
  • The Cuphead Show!: a new teaser for the upcoming episodes of this video game-turned-series.
  • Lucky Luna, the first trailer for this platformer based on Japanese folklore.
  • Desta: The Memories Between: the trailer for this new turn-based strategy game inspired by the game of dodgeball.
  • Reigns: Three Kingdoms, the game series that lets you rule your own kingdom and change your destiny with a single swipe is coming to Netflix.
  • Terra Nil, a game which subverts the city-builder genre to let you do just that. Use technology to rejuvenate barren wastelands, then recycle all the structures you used to do it, leaving nothing behind but pristine wilderness.
  • Poinpy, the trailer for this experience that lets you dodge adorable baddies and feed the blue beast hot on your heels.
  • DOTA: Dragon’s Blood: a sneak peek at Season 3 of this fantasy adaptation of the beloved game.
  • Wild Things: Animal Adventures: a trailer for the new game which tasks players with helping restore cute beasts to their wildlands by playing match-3 puzzles and restoring their habitats to health.
  • Sonic Prime, a sneak peek at this new animated series featuring an incredible twist that puts the fate of the multiverse in his gloved hands.
  • Raji: An Ancient Epic: The Indian action-adventure game is coming to Netflix.
  • Spiritfarer: a trailer for the award-winning cozy management game about dying.

Day 1[]

Day one lineup focused on spectacle and film titles like Shadow and Bone, Army of the Dead, Lupin, Kate, and Vikings: Valhalla.

  • Army of Thieves release window announced.
    • Deborah Snyder revealed during the Geeked Week that the film is planned to premiere in Fall 2021 on Netflix.
  • Shadow and Bone was renewed for a second season also consisting of eight episodes.
  • First-look images from the upcoming Jason Momoa action film, Sweet Girl.
  • An exclusive clip from Lupin's Season 2 was released ahead of the mystery series’ Friday 11 June return.
  • Director Peter Thorwarth debuted the never-before-seen teaser for his upcoming horror film, Blood Red Sky.

  • Showrunner and executive producer Kevin Smith introduced an exclusive teaser for the upcoming sequel to the 1980s cult classic series, Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
  • An exclusive teaser for the upcoming movie The Loud House Movie, based on the beloved Nickelodeon family series.
  • Voice cast for director Zack Snyder Norse mythology animated series Twilight of the Gods was announced.

The free five-day virtual event concluded on Friday with news and first looks about our gaming-related slate including Arcane, The Cuphead Show!, Castlevania, The Witcher, and Resident Evil.

  • New images and a first-look clip from the highly anticipated animated series, Arcane set in the world of League of Legends, one of the most popular games in the world.[2][3]
  • Cuphead fan Wayne Brady introduced an exclusive new teaser for the game-turned-series, The Cuphead Show! and announced some exciting casting news.[4]
  • The Castlevania universe is expanding! Watch the exclusive announcement of the new series centered around Richter Belmont and set against the backdrop of the French Revolution.[5]
  • Executive Producer Adi Shankar and animation studio Bobbypills give a first look at this original anime, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix featuring alter egos of Ubisoft characters in a highly referenced homage to the early '90s.[6]
