Hong Yeong-ae (Korean: 홍영애) is a character in the Korean drama series The Glory. She is portrayed by Yoon Da-kyung.
Biography[]
Yeong-ae is the mother of Park Yeon-jin. She is very wealthy and frequently uses her wealth to get her way. She made sure her daughter never faced consequences for her crimes. Her daughter bullied Moon Dong-eun and Yoon So-hee relentlessly during high school, and even killed So-hee. When Dong-eun dropped out of school due to bullying, she bribed Dong-eun's mother, Jeong Mi-hee, into changing the reason on the drop-out form from "bullying" to "maladjustment". When Dong-eun provided police with evidence of her daughter's involvement in So-hee's death, she paid the police officer to give her the evidence and not mention it in the reports.
Yeong-ae is very superstitious and frequently visits a shaman.
