Hyperdrive is an American documentarian, non-scripted, auto-racing, reality TV competition series that was executively produced by Aaron Catling and Charlize Theron. It is hosted by Rutledge Wood, Mike Hill, Michael Bisping and Lindsay Cyzarniak.
It was released on Netflix on August 21, 2019. This series follows 28 international drivers from across the globe who are competing against each other on one of the largest existing automotive courses in the world. Each episode is 45 to 60 minutes long.

Rules[]
Qualifying Round
- The Top Three Finishers will automatically advance to the Knockout Round.
- During Q1 through Q3, the Middle Six will have another shot in the next Qualifying Round. They will be joined by six more racers for Q2 and Q3, and four more for Q4
- During Q1 through Q3, the Bottom Three will be eliminated from the competition. During Q4, the remaining drivers who fall outside the Top Three are also eliminated.
Knockout Round
- Any racer who DNFs in a Knockout Round is automatically eliminated. Also, during Q1 and Q2, the slowest racer (including any who DNF) is automatically eliminated.
- The two slowest drivers (excluding those knocked out for being the slowest during Q1 and Q2) will face on The Head 2 Head.
- All other drivers who are above The Bottom Two (or The Bottom Three during Q1 and Q2) will advance to the next round.
Head 2 Head/Wildcard Tournament
Track Layout: Start - Turn 1 Target - Shipping Container - Turn 2 Target - 360 Barrel Turn Pole - Finish.
- In The Head 2 Head, drivers who place in the Bottom Two after any automatic eliminations will race each other to stay in the competition. The winner will advance to the next round, and the loser will be out of the competition.
- In The Wildcard Tournament, drivers who are eliminated from the Knockout Rounds during Q1 through Q3 must go on to the Head 2 Head. They will race each other and have a chance to go back to compete once again. The winner gets back in the competition, while the other drivers are fully eliminated from the competition.
Obstacles & Their Objectives[]
The Leveler
In the Qualifying Round
- Drivers must drive up the ramp and stop before the edge. The closer to the edge the fastest way to drop The Leveler to the other side saving valuable time.
In the Knockout Round
- Drivers must find the balance point and remained it balance for 10 seconds. if they reach max time they'll receive a time penalty. and if the car has mechanical issues drivers have no choice but to take max time if they can't balance it.
Hyperdrive Targets - Target Zone, Double, Manji Alley, Slide ways, Front Bump Targets.
- Drivers must hit these targets using their Backside Fenders or Back Bumper And the door of their car. When the driver missed or hit the target using the Front Fenders or Back Bumper will received a time penalty. if the driver opens the door to hit the targets will automatically be DSQ. this rule was implemented after a driver hits the target using the doors open.
- Except on Front Bump Targets Like Supernova, The Gauntlet and Slide ways.
Supernova
- Drivers must hit the Front Bump Target and do a Rockford Turn or J Turn without hitting the penalty light tube. One hit of the light tube will receive a time penalty *Except in Pipe City.
Light box
- Drivers must do 540 Donut in a randomized pattern boxes in order. if the driver went into the wrong box will they'll have to restart their attemp and find the right box or an incomplete 540 will receive a time penalty. Just like in Supernova one hit of the light tubes will receive a time penalty
Walk on Water
- Drivers must drive through a pool of water to get to the other side. Light reflectors will guide the drivers to stay on the safe path.
Water Cannon
- Drivers must outrun the water before it hits them or they can wait for the water to stop firing to avoid risk.
Fast Lane
- Drivers must accelerate as fast as they can.
Force Perspective
- Drivers must drive into the hole gap without hitting the wall. Each layer is hit even a tiny bit of damage will receive a time penalty.
Thread The Needle
- Drivers must drive into a indicated shipping container. and going to a wrong container will receive max time penalty.
The Gauntlet
- Drivers must hit and avoid some targets and they must stay in the narrow path. One slip off the path will receive max time penalty.
Rail Slide
- Drivers must slide down the guard rail just to save time and risking damaging their cars or overboard when not lined up correctly.
Roundhouse
- Drivers must do a 360 in each light tube also hitting the targets as well.
Cyclone
- Drivers will only have 15 seconds to do a 360 degree turn without hitting the light tube and exit through the assigned gate. When drivers ran out of time before exiting the assigned gate or going into the wrong gate will receive a time penalty.
