Jacopo meets Lidia Poët when she moves into Enrico's house, where Jacopo is also staying.
Lidia takes on the case of Pietro Baiocchi, a man who is accused of murdering a ballet dancer named Adele Valery.
Jacopo accompanies Lidia when she goes Adele's funeral to speak to her relatives. He writes an article about her in the newspaper, angering Lidia as he did not have her consent.
Upon seeing how easily people believed the news, Lidia uses this to her advantage and manipulates Jacopo into writing an article about a plan to collect fingerprints at the crime scene. This news is false, but successfully tricks the murderer into going to the crime scene to erase fingerprints, leading to their arrest.[1]
