Jaylan Evans is an actor who portrays Skylar Summerhill in the series My Life With the Walter Boys.
Biography[]
Jaylan is born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. Jaylan landed his first acting role at age 13 with Community Theatre of Greensboro's production of, "13, The Musical."
The posting for the role of Skylar Summerhill mentioned that Skylar is Native American. Jaylan is black and Native American. Specifically, he is Haliwa-Saponi, a North Carolina tribe based in the Hollister area, northeast of Raleigh. When Jaylan landed the role of Skylar, series creator Melanie Halsall changed the character to be both Native American and Black, just like Jaylan.[1]
