Juan Ruiz is a character on The Imperfects. He is portrayed by Iñaki Godoy.
Biography[]
Juan is an offbeat but good-natured art student who created a comic called "Sugar Skull." He aspires to be a graphic novelist. He is horrified to learn that he is transforming into a chupacabra, a monstrous creature that attacks animals and consumes their blood. Juan had a painter girlfriend named Darcy and can't remember any of his alter ego experiences.
Juan Ruiz, Tilda Weber and Abbi Singh are three young adults suffering from the side effects by the DNA experiment by Dr. Alex Sarkov and Dr. Sydney Burke. The three team up and demand answers from Dr. Sydney Burke and Dr. Alex Sarkov. While working with them to find a cure, he must also figure out how to contain his inner monster.

Personality[]
Juan is a kind-hearted person and at times is nervous. He cares about the people around him and doesn't want to harm anyone or anything. When he found out he was killing living things, he was afraid and didn't want to hurt anyone anymore. And because of this he becomes determined to get rid of the Chupacabra for good by making a cure. When his girlfriend, Darcy, tried to persuade him to embrace the monster, he refused to listen due to the danger of nearly killing her. When Darcy left him he became heartbroken. He usually says wise things that help people understand the world. But, later on he changes. He turns comfortable with hurting and killing people, only for self defense or protection. He starts to get angry, when someone tries to hurt his friends and family, and kills them.
Physical appearance[]
As a human, Juan has dark, curly hair and eyes. He generally dresses in more casual outfits which often get torn whenever he transforms.
In his chupacabra form, his body becomes covered in dark grey fur with a row of spikes running down his back. His chupacabra form has a canid-like facial structure and sharp teeth. He also has long claws and walks in a digitigrade manner.
