Kate Wyler is a character in the political drama thriller series The Diplomat. She is portrayed by Keri Russell.
Biography[]
Kate is an experienced US diplomat who has spent her career working behind the scenes in war-torn areas to make the world a better place. She has previously worked in Baghdad, Iraq[1] and served as second-in-charge at the US embassies in Beirut, Lebanon and Islamabad, Pakistan.[2]
She was supposed to go to Kabul for her next assignment, but is forced by President William Rayburn to serve as the US ambassador to the UK, which is a far more formal and attention-grabbing position. She is uncomfortable, but reluctantly accepts it.[2]
Kate moves to London with her husband, Hal Wyler, who is also an experienced diplomat.
