Matteo Worley, born Colin Worley, is a character in the series The Night Agent. He is portrayed by Andre Anthony.
Biography[]
Matteo Worley, born Colin Worley, was hired by White House employees to plant a bomb on the metro. The bombing was an attempt to assassinate Omar Zadar disguised as a terrorist attack. However, he did not succeed in killing Omar, as the bomb was discovered by FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who promptly stopped the train and evacuated passengers before it exploded.
After the terrorist attack failed, the White House sent assassins to kill him, but they mistook his twin brother, Matteo, for Colin. Matteo was killed, and his death was staged as a drug overdose. Colin subsequently took on the identity of Matteo.
Matteo is in a romantic relationship with Paulo Bonetto, Maddie Redfield's art professor. Matteo and Paulo are leaders of a climate organization named New Leaf DC. It lobbies for environmental justice globally. It previously organized a sit-in at an oil pipeline worksite and regularly takes part in protests. Paulo and Matteo plan to recruit Maddie into the group to amplify New Leaf's message. At the direction of Matteo , Paulo manipulates Maddie into believing that he is in love with her.
Throughout The Night Agent[]
Matteo planted a bomb on a metro, which FBI agent Peter Sutherland noticed. Peter opened the emergency door, bringing the train to a halt. He pulled out his FBI badge and ordered everyone to get off the train slowly. During the commotion, the bomb exploded. Most passengers managed to escape in time.
Matteo stood in the crowd watching the scene. Peter noticed Matteo and ran after him through some shadowy alleys. During their fight, Peter spotted a snake tattoo on his side. Despite Peter's attempts to arrest Matteo, he escaped and Peter was struck by a car.[1]
Matteo convinced Paulo to manipulate his student Maddie Redfield, the daughter of Vice President Ashley Redfield, into believing that Paulo is in love with her.
In class, Paulo Bonetto subtly flirts with her. Maddie starts feeling better and happier after her professor shows interest.
Later, Paulo texts Matteo that he is getting closer to Maddie and will explain more when he gets home.[2]
Paulo Bonetto meets Matteo and informs him that Maddie will be visiting him the following night. The man calms down Paulo, who is feeling nervous. He is sure everything will end well.
Maddie visits Paulo's home. He has made her dinner, but Maddie wants to get intimate first. Suddenly, Maddie notices Matteo watching them. Paulo tells the man that Maddie will say what they need her to. Suddenly, the man shoots Paulo and drags Maddie out of the room, leaving a bloody trail.[3]
