Mayka is a character in Welcome To Eden. She is part of the Eden Foundation and takes charge of security. She is portrayed by Lola Rodríguez.
Biography
Mayka is a transgender member of the Eden Foundation, who takes charge of security on the island. She operates drones and watches security camera footage of Eden. She is loyal to Astrid.
Unlike other members, Mayka joined Eden on her own. Outside of Eden, people had challenged her gender identity and threatened her. However, at Eden, she was accepted for who she was. After she discovered Eden and learned what they were doing, she contacted the island and offered to help with their technical installation for a few nights. She later became a long-term resident. She remembers very vividly that the first thing Astrid said when she met her was "Welcome to Eden, Mayka." She felt that she was immediately accepted for who she was.
Throughout Welcome To Eden
While Mayka was DJ'ing at the farewell party, Charly approached her. Charly unintentionally asked Mayka some insensitive questions, such as how long she had been Mayka for, to which she replied that she had always been Mayka. Charly was somewhat embarrassed by his insensitivity and continued to try to flirt with her, but Mayka turned Charly down rather harshly. Charly became upset and drank two bottles of Blue Eden.[1]
During a storm, Charly was injured by lightning. That night, Mayka visited Charly at the clinic and the two flirted. Mayka brought Charly back to her place, and the two slept together.[2]
Charly later had doubts about Mayka's intentions. Mayka was shocked and talked about how she is loyal to Eden and joined Eden on her own. She told him that she would easily choose Eden over him. During this conversation, Mayka's laptop was hacked.[3]
