Omar Sy is a French actor, comedian and writer, known for portraying Assane Diop in the crime thriller series Lupin. He has also appeared in The Takedown, The Intouchables, Jurassic World, and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Biography[]
The son of immigrants from West Africa, Sy was born in Trappes, a banlieue in the western part of the Paris metropolitan area. He initially rose to prominence in the sketch comedy show Service après-vente des émissions, in which he starred alongside Fred Testot. Sy achieved international recognition for his performance in the 2011 hit The Intouchables, winning the César award for best actor. He has since divided his time between French films such as Samba, Chocolat and Tirailleurs and Hollywood productions including X-Men: Days of Future Past, Jurassic World and Transformers: The Last Knight. Having learned to speak English after his success with The Intouchables, Sy moved from Paris to Los Angeles, where he currently lives with his family.[1][2][3]
