One Day at a Time is an American television series based on Norman Lear's 1975–1984 sitcom of the same name. Lear’s company, Act III Productions, approached Sony with the idea of reimagining the original series with a Hispanic family.
Netflix released three seasons of thirteen episodes apiece on January 6, 2017; January 26, 2018; and February 8, 2019. Netflix canceled the series on March 14, 2019. On June 27, 2019, the series was revived by Pop, making it the first cancelled Netflix/streaming TV series to be revived for a cable network, and the second series (following BoJack Horseman) that Netflix has syndicated to an American linear network.
