Trivia[]
- The series has become controversial due to the show's depiction of Queen Cleopatra as being black and a denial of any evidence to the contrary, with some accusing Netflix of blackwashing a historical icon. This has led to Egyptians demanding it to be removed in Egypt for "erasing Egyptian history and culture". According to historical records and widely accepted by historians, Cleopatra was of Macedonian Greek heritage.[1][2]
