Filming locations[]
Islev, Rødovre, "Statens Pædagogiske Forsøgscenter" (near Copenhagen). The school building meanwhile was removed. The name "Islevgård Skole" was just made up for the show[3]. This building was used in the Season 1 - Season 3.
In Season 4 Rita is teacher at "Bavnegårdsskolen" in Lundsager - also a fictitious name made up for the show.
Notes[]
Christian Torpe created similar shows for the Netherlands with "Tessa" (Mini-Series, 2015) and for France with "Sam" (2016 - 2021).
"Hjørdis" is also the name of a Mini-Series with 4 episodes from 2015 and set at the same school which is seen in the Season 1 to Season 3 of "Rita." It's also available on Netflix.
Viewers, who also watched "The Last Kingdom," probably will recognize Peter Gantzler and Alexandre Willaume, who both had roles as "Danes" in that series.
Awards[]
This series has received 2 wins and 25 nominations.
Soundtrack[]
The intro song of Rita is called "Speak out Now" by Oh Land.
