Rosamund Pike is a British actress. She known for her roles in Gone Girl as Amy Dunne, Jack Reacher as Helen, and Pride & Prejudice as Jane Bennet. For Netflix she portrays Marla Grayson in the dark comedy film I Care a Lot.
Biography[]
She born on 27 January 1979 in London. Pike attended Badminton School in Bristol. She gained a place to read English literature at Wadham College, Oxford. While she was still at Oxford, Pike acted in and directed various plays, including one by Simon Chesterman, who was then a graduate student. She began her acting career by appearing in stage productions such as Romeo and Juliet, alongside Paul Ready, and Gaslight. After graduating, she was offered a role as a Bond girl and MI6 agent assigned to aid James Bond in Die Another Day. She also appeared in the special show Bond Girls Are Forever and, shortly afterwards, the BAFTA tribute to the James Bond series.
Pike appeared in a number of UK television series, including Wives and Daughters (1999), before scoring an auspicious feature film debut as the glacial beauty "Miranda Frost" in the James Bond film, Die Another Day (2002); when the film was released, she was only 23. Though her debut was a big-budget action film, the film work that followed was primarily in smaller, independent films, including Promised Land (2004). As she continued her stage work in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof, Johnny English Reborn (2011).
