Son Myeong-o (Korean: 손명오) is a supporting antagonist in the Korean drama series The Glory. He is portrayed by Kim Gun-woo.

Biography[]

As a teenager, Myeong-o and his friend group bullied Moon Dong-eun. They burned, assaulted and mocked her. This drove Dong-eun to drop out of school and plot revenge on her bullies.

His friend group also bullied Kim Gyeong-ran and Yoon So-hee. Myeong-o also sexually assaulted Gyeong-ran.

Throughout The Glory[]

Myeong-o has always done whatever Jeon Jae-jun told him to do. When Dong-eun shows up out of nowhere, she helps give him a way out of his toxic relationship with Jae-jun.

Myeong-o works as a driver and drives for Jeon Jae-jun. He often sells drugs to his high school friend Lee Sa-ra.

Myeong-o was killed by Park Yeon-jin and taken to Yeongsan Funeral Home.[2]

Personality[]

Myeong-o is portrayed as creepy and often assaults women physically and sexually. Dong-eun was one of his victims back in high school, whom he kissed without her consent.

Physical appearance[]

Myeong-o is often seen with tied up hair and a tattoo on his neck that says “Memento Mori” (Latin translation: Remember death). He is often in layers of expensive clothing.

Trivia[]

  • Myeong-o has a tattoo on his neck that says "Memento mori", which means "Remember that you must die" in Latin. In high school, he covered up part of this tattoo so that only "Me mori" was visible, which means "I died." in Spanish, but was incorrectly translated to "I am dead" in the English subtitles.[3]
