The Mother is a character in the drama action movie The Mother. She is portrayed by Jennifer Lopez.
Biography[]
The Mother is a highly-trained military veteran and former assassin. Though she gave up her own daughter, Zoe, shortly after birth to keep her safe, danger found her. Two dangerous arms dealers, Adrian Lovell and Hector Álvarez, were out for revenge. Adrian and Hector were business partners in a criminal network and were both romantically involved with the Mother. When the Mother learned of the darker side of their business, she ratted them out to FBI agent William Cruise, setting Hector and Adrian on a quest to get revenge against the Mother. They planned to kidnap Zoe to force the Mother out of hiding.
When the Mother first rat out Adrian and Hector, William interrogated her, which quickly went wrong as every other agent got killed, but the Mother was able to save William's life. William felt indebted to the Mother for saving his life, and the two formed a friendship. He contacted the Mother to let her know of the impending danger that Zoe was in.
The Mother and William Cruise teamed up to find Zoe. She took charge of her, protected her and taught her how to survive her dangerous situation.
The Mother's longtime friend Jons who ran a convenience store provided supplies for The Mother and Zoe.

Tarantula, the head lieutenant working under Hector Álvarez and Adrian Lovell, was the first person that the Mother and William Cruise used to get a lead on the location of Hector and Zoe. Tarantula was interrogated and tortured by the Mother for information.
