In San Simon a 12-year-old orphan boy named Domingo, prays at the town church and then goes into town and steals a mango. He's then chased into a forest by the town police officer, Garcia. After losing, Garcia, Domingo overhears the siblings Jesus and Isabella practice their martial arts training together. Domingo climbs up a tree and watches them until their practice is over. It's then that Martial Arts teacher Chiu finds Domingo and scares him. This causes the boy to fall off the tree branch he was sitting on and is caught by Silencio. Terrified, Domingo runs away and slams into a training pole. As the boy regains consciousness, Jesus draws on his face until Isabella stops him. After Isabella and Jesus briefly "interrogate" Domingo they introduce themselves to him and vice versa. He expresses interest in joining their school; the two initially deny him, but after hearing he's an orphan they let their master Chiu decide. Chiu and Silencio both tend to the beehives, during it Silencio is stung many times due to the anger he exudes. At that moment, Isabella and Jesus arrive and after he asks Isabella to tend to Silencio's welts, Domingo breaks a statue. Isabella and Jesus then try and explain the situation with Domingo, but Chiu has Jesus collect fruit for dinner.
Domingo then formally introduces himself to Chiu and says that his name means "Sunday" and he requests that he join their school. Chiu then asks a Domingo since some consider Sunday to either be the first or last day so what does he consider himself. Uncertain whether which one he should be, Chiu answers that perhaps one day he'll find out. Meanwhile, Isabella struggles to draw water from the pump, and as Jesus struggles to pick fruits. Soon he finds a bottle of tequila he's been hiding in the mango tree and decides to get stupified. Back to Isabella who asks Silencio's opinion on Domingo. Silencio gives no direct answer, but just kicks the water pump that fixes it and goes on his way. That night during dinner, Silencio is agitated by Domingo's lack of table manners and Chiu asks the boy if he's found an answer to his question. The answer Domingo gives is that he's still uncertain, but Chiu praises it as very good. Thinking he'll be able to join their martial arts school, Officer Garcia knocks at their door. She informs Isabella about a young thief, but Jesus brushes her off. When Isabella and Jesus confront Domingo about what he stole, he confesses that it was mango. Jesus then has Domingo promise that he only steal mangos from them for now on as they have plenty. Somewhere else, DEA Agent Brister gets new orders from his superior Larry. It's a job to partake in a Bi-National Task Force to intercept cartel in San Simon.
That night, Silencio has a nightmare where he relives witnessing his parents being killed and then have his tongue cut out. The following morning, it's learned that Domingo is missing and Silencio is the culprit. So, the siblings head into town to look for him.
