History[]
The U.S. Consulate General in Marseille issues visas to people wishing to enter the US. Long queues of refugees wait outside the consulate to apply for visas. The Consul General Graham Patterson follows strict instructions to not issue visas to people on the Nazi blacklist, including Jewish people, "pinkos" and prisoners of war. Marseille Police Chief Philippe Frot often visits Graham to remind him of the US's neutral stance and to surrender any undesirables to local police.
Employee Harry Bingham secretly issues several hundred visas by forging Graham's signature. He is later fired.
Secretary Lorene Letoret secretly works for the Gestapo, Nazi Secret Police. She spies on members of the Emergency Rescue Committee.
