The Walter Ranch is located in rural Silver Falls, Colorado and inhabited by the Walter family. It has been passed down generations.
George Walter had trouble keeping the crops free from pests, causing the worst pest infestation in over 20 years. George attempted using pesticides and cutting down pest-ridden trees to control the infestation.[1][2]
George felt guilty for being unable to maintain the ranch that his father passed down to him. To alleviate the financial stress, George talked to Darrell at the bank to get a bridge loan, but they were rejected. George asked Mato Summerhill about getting a loan, however, Mato instead found someone who was interested in buying the ranch.[3]
