Werner Pfennig is a character in the limited series All the Light We Cannot See. He is portrayed by Louis Hofmann.
Biography[]
Werner Pfennig is a smart and sensitive German teenager. He works for the Nazis in the Wehrmacht radio surveillance unit, which was deployed to Saint-Malo, France, to locate illegal radio broadcasts.
Werner and his sister Jutta were raised in the Viktoriastrasse Orphanage in Essen, Germany. After Werner was recruited by the Nazis, he was forced to leave Jutta behind. Werner attended the National Political Institute of Education in Berlin where he was trained in code breaking and was top of his class.
